About Me

Valeria Mravyan was born and spent her formative years in Moscow, Russia and has resided in the Greater Toronto Area with her husband and two children since the early 1990's

Valeria holds a Masters in Applied Arts from Moscow State Textile University and obtained her first artist's diploma from the Industrial Art College of Moscow. Building on her professional training, Valeria has spent her career experimenting across a variety of mediums including oils, acrylic, watercolours, mixed-media, batiks and tapestries.

Her works have been exhibited in galleries across the globe including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Arts (Japan), Frankfurt Messe (Germany), Chagall House (Israel), Krimsky Most Gallery (Russia), Monserart Gallery (NY, USA), and Los Gatos Museum of Art (CA, USA).

Industry professionals find her paintings to have a delicate touch of classical Russian constructivism. Her works demonstrate the symbiosis between how a painting looks and how it feels. Through abstract landscapes, Valeria strives to evoke the universal familiarity of a foggy day or a dramatic sunset.

Valeria is fortunate to indulge in her love of painting daily. Her works express her emotions of excitement, happiness, disappointment and sorrow through the warmth of a bright autumn day or the purity of a cold winter morning. Equal parts pain and joy, she is able to expressly celebrate in her works.
